Thinking of You card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Thinking of you".

I was in the mood for a lot of pink and black for this card. I started with the Swiss Dot stencil with some Transparent Texture Paste. After it was dry, I painted Spun Sugar Distress Paint with my fingers here and there. Immediately afterwards, I sprayed with a homemade spray of Picked Raspberry Reinker and Berry Twist Perfect Pearls.

I then used different colors of Distress Ink to create more depth into the background. I've used Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral. When I applied Black Soot Crayons onto the edges, it didn't look nice because of the Texture Paste. So I've dusted off the Pitch Black Paint Dabber and applied that also onto the edges.

The Thinking is one of the Celebrations Words (thanks Cathie!). And I painted it black with the Pitch Black Paint Dabber. I've used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and white Gelly Roll pen to create more interest and some ore dimension.

12 tags of 2016 - October

Hi everyone,

It's time for the 12 tags of 2016 for the month of October. Tim has made a fabulous Halloween tag, it amazing! Love that Frankenstein Monster Mask.

For the background I used the collage sheet of Materialize Paper Pack. I've made a collage of my own by cutting some pieces out and collaged them once again. I still haven't mastered the use of the Crazing glue...

I chose this mini crazy bulldog (thanks, Cathie!), colored it with Distress Reinkers and placed him in the cage.

Autumn cards with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Autumn. As this season is just began, the colors are changing and can be your inspiration.

Autumn has already started a month ago and the leaves are beginning to change color slowly. I start to appreciate these colors more and more, but the cooler temperature I don't like very much, as well as the shorter days and longer nights. But the color palette is growing on me, which is why I chose these fall colors for this challenge.

For the background I've used the Media Leaves Masks and I made sprays of Distress Reinkers and Perfect Pearls. After spraying, I've dabbed off the background and used another piece of cardstock to pick up the excess spray and keeping the same composition.

The Celebration Words (thanks, Cathie!) I've inked up with Versamark ink and embossed them with Pewter Embossing Powder. With the Versamark pen I did some touch ups. This time I've used Walnut Stain Distress Crayon for the edges. Gives it a different look and kept it more autumnal.

Believe in the Season Release

Hi everyone,

Today the new release of Simon Says Stamp was released, "Believe in the Season." Check out this Christmas release at the Simon Says Stamp store and tomorrow there's a bloghop on the blog. See this blog post for more details.

This is my first Christmas card of the season and for me I've used very light colors. I've used the new Nothern Lights Snowflakes die for creating the background, and the Christmas tree is from the special Tim Holtz STAMPtember stamp set.

Trick or Treat bag with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Treat Bag/Box.

It's so fun to make a Halloween treat bag. I used an old paper bag I had lying around. I've painted the sides and edges black with Black Soot Distress Paint. And two sheets of the Materialize Paper Pack I used for the front and back of the bag.

The Hocus Pocus die cuts (thanks Cathie!) are perfect to dress up this treat bag. The cat I've colored with Black Soot Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Crayon. Hat I have worked with Fresh Lime Dylusions Paint  and given depth with the Black Soot Distress Crayon.
The bat I started Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon and finished with Black Soot Distress Crayon.

To blend in the green hat into the background, I've applied Fresh Lime Dylusions Paint in some places with my fingers. The Gearhead die cuts (thanks again, Cathie!) I gave a gold effect with Bronzer Color Shine Spray. And some extra depth with Black Soot Distress Crayon.

Explore Art Journal Spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Exploring the world.

It's been some time since I've made an art journal spread, so I dusted off my art journal and made one for this challenge. I started with a scrap piece of the Materialize Paper Pack and a new sheet. I adhered it together and cut it to the right size. After that I applied a layer of Gesso.

When the Gesso was dry I made a collage with the Expedition Ephemera Pack. After it was all adhered I colored the background with Distress Stain using mini sprayers. Because I used  Collage Medium in some places it resisted the Stains. I dabbed off the resisting Stain with a wipe.

With some Distress Crayons I made some definition. Because the Stains couldn't soak in in some places , I picked it up with my finger while rubbing in the Crayons which gave it just a very beautiful subtle effect in combination with Crayons.

Skeleton Hands card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Halloween and we're also showcasing Memory Box products.

Halloween is my favorite season for making cards, tags and such. I love the scary-ness of it. For the Memory Box product showcase, I used the Skeleton Hand. Unfortunately, it's only one hand and it's the right, but that's okay, I just used two rights.

I started with a sheet of the Materialize Paper Pack for the background. I cut it to the right size and used Texture Paste along with the Bats background stencil. My Crushed Grape Dylusion Paint is has turned into a thick heavy body paint, I don't know how that happened, but for this technique it didn't really matter.

With the Skeleton Hand die I created sort of Jazz Hands to light up the scary-ness, and with the googly eyes turns the creepiness down a little.
